<p>The detection of bubbles in coverslip adhesive. Bubbles (15, 16, 17) in coverslip adhesive may span large areas of the coverslip (14). An automated cytology system (500) acquires 4x gray scale images (22) of the slide (10). Image conditioning (24) is then performed. The conditioned gray scale image (22) is binomially filtered providing a binomial filtered image (34). The gray scale image (22) is subtracted from the binomial filtered image (34) to produce a high pass enhanced image (36). An object mask detection (26) is then performed on the high pass enhanced image (36). Objects are classified to identify bubble edges.</p> |
