PURPOSE:To decrease the starting voltage of a rapid start type fluorescent lamp by applying on the inner surface of a glass tube a transparent conductive coating (NESA film of comparatively high resistance) and a fluorescent film consisting of a fluorescent substance and an added alpha-alumina. CONSTITUTION:A halophosphate fluorescent substance, a calcium pyrophosphate as a film reinforcer, and an alpha-alumina are ball-milled together with a water-solution of carboxyl methyl cellulose containing 1% of ammonium chloride to prepare a fluorescent paint. Next, on the surface of a glass tube 1 coated with a transparent conductive coating 2 (NESA film 70-90kOMEGA), a fluorescent paint is coated to form a fluorescent coating film 3, and mercury and krypton-neon-argon mixed gas are enclosed in the tube 1; thus a power-saving rapid start type fluorescent lamp is manufactured. Therefore, since the starting voltage is lowered, the lamp can be lit up even with the NESA film resistance higher than before, and furthermore it is possible to reduce the external appearance damage due to mercury contamination. |
