PURPOSE: To make it possible to lower the height of a keyboard lid when it is opened without increasing the depth by providing the keyboard lid with a front lid and rear lid divided into first half parts and second half parts, freely turnably connecting the front lid to the rear lid and freely slidably housing the rear lid into a main body. CONSTITUTION: This keyboard lid 10 has a pair right and left turning arms 14 which guide opening and closing of the front lid 12 of a cover body 11 consisting of the front lid 12 and the rear lid 13 and a pair of right and left slides 15 which guide opening and closing of the rear lid 13. The front lid 12 and the rear lid 13 are freely turnably connected to each other by the hinger 16. The respective turning arms 14 are fixed at one end to the rear surface in the rear part of the front lid 12 and are made freely turnable at the other end around the inside surfaces of arms 3 via supporting shafts 17. The rear lid 13 is regulated in movement by the turning arms 14 and the slide guides and is pushed into a piano body 2 in such a manner that its front part is raised when the front lid 12 is successively lifted so as to open the cover body 11. The front lid 12 is turned around the supporting shaft 17 and is opened to a position commonly used as a music rest.
