PURPOSE: To obtain a hair washing treating agent capable of preventing hair from damaging or a humectant properties from deteriorating and drying and loosening, etc., from occurring by washing the hair. CONSTITUTION: This hair treating agent comprises (A) a cationic surfactant and (B) a silylated peptide having a functional group, containing only one silicon atom and covalently bound to amino group of a peptide containing the amino group in the side chain of an amino acid, e.g. a silylated peptide of formula I or II [R<1> to R<3> are each a 1-3C alkyl or OH; R<4> is a residue except terminal amino group of a basic amino acid having amino group at the terminal of the side chain; R<5> is an amino acid side chain other than R<4> ; (a) is 1 or 3; (m) and (n) are each 0-200; (m+n) is 1-200] in an amount so as to provide preferably 0.2-5wt.%, especially 0.5-2wt.% ingredient (A) and preferably 0.05-30wt.%, especially 0.5-15wt.% ingredient (B). The compound of formula I is obtained by carrying out the condensing reaction of a silyl compound of formula III (R<6> to R<8> are each a 1-3C alkyl, a 1-3C alkoxy, OH or a halogen; X is a halogen) with peptides of formula IV. |
