PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic material contg. a novel kind of latex which has good scratching resistance and may be incorporated into a gelatin system layer at a high concn. SOLUTION: This photographic material includes a base, a primer coating layer, at least one of hydrophilic gelatin system silver halide emulsion layers, >=1 other hydrophilic gelatin system layers, if desired, and a core-shell latex polymer contg. a core (co)polymer and a shell (co)polymer. (i) The core-shell latex exists in at least one of the hydrophilic gelatin system layers. (ii) The shell (co)polymer contains a component A derived from at least one kind of ethylenic unsatd. monomers having reactive methylene groups. This component A constitutes 1 to 30wt.% of the entire component existing in both of the core and shell (co)polymers and constitutes 2 to 50wt.% of the entire component existing in the shell (co)polymer.
