PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic device and an image forming method capable of obtaining an image with most desirable resolution and gradation in accordance with an original. CONSTITUTION: As for the electrophotographic device provided with an electrophotographic photoreceptor 1, an electrostatic charging means 3 for electrostatically charging the photoreceptor 1 and an exposure means 2 for forming an electrostatic latent image by irradiating the photoreceptor 1 with light beams, the photoreceptor 1 is provided with induction capacitance, and also, provided with such a potential characteristic that is varied by the intensity of an electric field generated by the electrostatically charged potential, and the electrostatically charged potential of the photoreceptor 1 by the electrostatic charging means 3 is controlled based on data obtained from the image resolution and gradation of the original, and these means are used in the image forming method. |
