PURPOSE: To reduce the production cost by using a substrate necessary for orienting a polymerizable liquid crystal composition and a substrate necessary for carrying and obtained optical anysotropic body separately to satisfy various requests to a transparent substrate constituting the substrate having optical anysotropy. CONSTITUTION: Orientation treatment is executed on a 1st transparent substrate and a 2nd substrate. The two substrate are opposedly arranged the oriented surfaces face each other, and a polymerizable liquid crystal composition is interposed between the substrates. And the optical anysotropic body is formed by polymerizing the polymerizable liquid crystal composition by irradiating with light. One of the substrates is peeled off and the optical anysotropic body is transferred to a 3rd transparent substrate. The polymerizable liquid crystal composition contains at least two of a cyclic alcohol, phenol or a primary monofunctional acrylate or primary monofunctional methacrylate of an acrylate or methacrylate of an aromatic hydroxy compound, which have a liquid crystal skeleton having 6-membered ring as a partial structure. |
