MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To obtain a rotary head-type magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus with few jitters by reducing the change of the rotation speed of a cylinder resulting from tapping to the head. CONSTITUTION: A compensation timing generator 7 generates a torque compensation timing from outputs of a rotation speed detector 3 and a rotation phase detector 4. A compensation value generator 8 outputs a compensation value with the timing generated at the generator 7. An adder 10 adds a torque compensation output of the generator 8 to a torque instruction to a cylinder motor- driving device 2 which is the output of an adder 9. A load change due to tapping to a head periodically takes place like pulses approximately on the same scale. Compensation data output from the generator 8 are added to/subtracted from the torque instruction in seal time with the timing generated by the generator 7 so as to offset a pulse-like external disturbing torque modeled after the above load change, whereby restricting a change in rotation of the cylinder due to tapping to the head.
