A cross-flow filter comprises an array (1) of stretched pockets (2), closed at their ends, of filter membrane material, in each case of whose inner spaces (I) there is an insert (3) of plastic fabric or similar, and between each of whom if necessary, there is a layer of sepg. insert, of plastic fabric or similar. The array (1) is surrounded on its plane surfaces by the pockets (2), tight along the side of a plastic shell (5), which supports the front flanges (60). The shell tightly surrounds the lengthwise pocket sides, cast or injected at least up to an opening region (OB1), which the pocket sides are each opened to on the inside (I), and which has a connection flange (70) attached to its outside.
