MODIFIED REED FOR AIR JET LOOM

PURPOSE: To enable a weft yarn to stably fly at a high speed in a weft yarn passage of a modified reed. CONSTITUTION: This modified reed 10 is obtained by forming a recessed U-shaped guide hole 12 in each dent 11 constituting the modified reed and forming a weft yarn passage T of a row of the guide holes 12. Each guide hole 12 is formed of a horizontal upper wall surface 12a, a vertical interior wall surface 12b, a lower wall surface 12c forming a slowly descending gradient toward the side of an opening 12f of the guide hole 12, an upper corner part 12d of a circular arc shape connecting the upper wall surface 12a to the interior wall surface 12b and a lower corner part 12e of a circular arc surface shape connecting the interior wall surface 12b to the lower wall surface 12c. The curvature radius R of the lower corner part 12e is larger than that (r) of the upper corner part 12d.
