<p>The invention relates to a method for estimating a channel in a receiver, and a receiver receiving a signal which contains one or more transmissions and comprising means (20) for filtering the received signal with a filter matched with the waveform of the signal, and means (20) for estimating the delays and amplitudes of the strongest received signal components from the filtered signal. In order to estimate a channel with a high accuracy, the receiver according to the invention comprises means (23) for estimating and extracting always the next strongest signal component from the signal, until all components have been estimated, and means (24, 25) for extracting from the received signal the signals interfering the most with the strongest signal component of each transmission, and means (24, 25) for estimating again the strongest signal component, and means (24, 25) for estimating and extracting from the signal always the next strongest signal component, until all components have been estimated. <MATH></p> |
