PURPOSE: To enable high-speed character processing by caching character data from the font file stored previously in a storage means and generating the new font file from the cached character data. CONSTITUTION: The font file 21 which is currently incorporated in a system consists of character data (outline data or bit map data). Further, the device is equipped with a system 22 which can create a document, etc, by using the font file 21 and caches the character data according to the use frequency. Further, the device is equipped with a cache buffer 23 which stores the cached character data by the system 22 by using the font file 21. The font file generating device 24 reads the character data out of the cache buffer 23 and newly generates the font file 25 of small size containing the character data that are high in use frequency. |
