PURPOSE: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery in which self-discharge hardly occurs in the case of storage under a charging condition and an excellent storage property is provided by adding the predetermined quantity of the specific calcium salt in nonaqueous electrolyte. CONSTITUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode using lithium as active material, nonaqueous electrolyte, and a separator, and in the nonaqueous electrolyte, 3×10<-4> -3×10<-2> mole/litter of calcium salt selected from Ca(CF3 SO3 )2 , Ca(BF4 )2 , Ca(PF6 )2 , Ca N (CF3 SO2 )2 }2 , Ca(ClO4 )2 , ca(AlCl4 )2 , Ca(CF3 COO)2 , and their derivatives is added.
