<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of graze by synchronizing the roll speed of a dummy stand with the sheet speed on the outlet side of an adjacent stand which is on the upstream side of the dummy stand and contributes rolling. CONSTITUTION: A metallic strip which is uncoiled from a pay-off reel 6 is rolled by the stands 1-5 of a cold tandem mill and coiled with a tension reel 7. Assuming that the stand 3 is the dummy stand 3d, the roll speed of the dummy stand 3d is changed and synchronized with the sheet speed of the metallic strip on the outlet side of the stand 2. The generation of graze on the metallic strip and roll of the dummy stand 3d is prevented.</p> |
