PURPOSE: To provide a robot which imitates phenonema peculiar to creatures. CONSTITUTION: Robots 1a, 1b may be called as a measuring worm robot, which is constituted of an arbitrary number of unit-modules 101 -105 connected in series to make a line. Other unit-modules 101 -105 are connected to the side face of the unit-modules 101 105 or disconnected therefrom by a joining device. Two arms and sensors are arranged to hold other unit modules 101 -105 at the upper face, respectively. The robots 1a, 1b catch other unitmodules 101 -105 by use thereof and combine with them to grow larger. A part of unit-modules is separated therefrom to proliferate. In this way, the robots 1a, 1b imitate the creasure's behavior like predation and growth. |
