HV insulator attachment system for power cable - uses simple spiral with twist resisting strip and grooved insulator body

A method is used for attaching a high voltage overhead line to an insulator itself suspended from a mast or post. The system of attachment allows the cable to move laterally without any twisting effect on the insulator. A metal strip(4) passing around a groove(2) in the insulator(1) surface crosses itself at the calbe(5) support point and continues twisted over the cable. A further strip(6) running in a further groove(8) over the top of the insulator has two hooks(7) positioned in the first groove preventing the support strip and insulator rotating relative to each other.
