Engine and gear oils contain: (a) known heavy-duty additives (HD) contg. P cpds.; and (b) as dispersing polymeric components (PC), co-oligomers and/or copolymers made of alkyl (meth)acrylates of formula (I) in amt. of 60-99.5 pts. wt., functionalised alkyl (meth)acrylates of formula (II) in amt. of 0.5-40 pts. wt. based on the sum of (I) and (II), monomer(s) of formula (III) in amt. of 0-20 pts. wt., and 1-alkenes of formula (IV) in amt. of 0-50 pts. wt. R = H or Me; R1 = 6-24C alkyl; R' = H or Me; R2 = OH-substd. 2-6C alkyl or alkoxylated residue of formula (V); R3 and R4 = H or Me; R5 = 1-40C alkyl or alkylaryl; n = 1-60; R5 = H, when n = 2; R'' = H or Me; R6 = 1-5C alkyl; and R7 = 4-40C alkyl, with the proviso that: (a) components (I) and (II) are made up to 100 wt.%, (b) the amt. of PC additives is 0.5-50 wt.%, and (c) the amt. of P does not exceed 0.08 wt.%. |
