Stampable sheet made of a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic resin and a moulded article produced from the sheet are described. The reinforcement is a glass fibre mat comprising a nondirectional fibre layer and a unidirectional fibre layer mechanically entangled with each other. The use of 20 to 55 wt.% of a glass fibre mat wherein the content of a long glass fibre bundle constituting the unidirectional fibre layer is 20 to 80 wt.% and a significant portion of the glass fibre bundle or the glass fibre is in a substantially relaxed state has made it possible to enhance the tensile strengths in all the directions, the moulding fluidity of the long glass fibre bundle in the direction of arrangement (reinforcement), and the compression strength in the direction of reinforcement. A moulded article produced from the above stampable sheet alone or a laminate thereof is one improved in the tensile strengths in all the directions, the compression strength in the direction of reinforcement, reliability, appearance, and ease of handling. @(44pp DWg.No.0/5).
