PURPOSE:To execute a conversion to a desired color by a simple operation, by selecting and designating a prescribed density range to the density data of a designated picture element, and executing a color conversion of color image data, based on the data of this selected and designated density range. CONSTITUTION:A color image of an original is read by an image read means (a) and the color data of three colors, which has been brought to a color separation are obtained. At the time of an operator designates an optional point in a roughly prescribed density area in which a color conversion is desired, by a position designating means (b), a density selecting means (c) selects and designates a prescribed density range to the density data of a designated picture element. A color converting means (d) decides whether the color data supplied from the image read means (a) are in a designated density area or not, based on its selected and designated density range, and in case of affirmative, a color of its density area is converted to other designated color. |
