PURPOSE:To obtain a dye composition suitable for printing a delicate pattern on a textile at a high speed for a long time by mixing an aqueous medium with a dispersant and a specified disperse dye to form a composition having specified contents of Fe and Si. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous medium (e.g. ion-exchanged water and glycerol) is mixed with a dispersant (e.g. lignosulfonate dispersant) and a disperse dye (CI. Disperse Red 50) having a mean particle diameter of 3mum or below to obtain a mixture having an Fe content of 5ppm or below and an Si content of 5ppm or below. Desirably, this mixture is obtained by dividing a water-based liquid containing the aqueous medium, the dispersant and the disperse dye into two portions and micronizing these portions by collision at a high speed. Therefore, even when textile printing is performed with, e.g. a thermal jet printer in which the ink is delivered by forming bubbles by heating, the staining of the heater surface is little enough to prolong the life of the printer. |
