The invention relates to a paraffin lamp (1) with a shell-like container (2) in which a non-combustible wick (3) is centrically arranged. The wick (3) is held in an upright body (4) which may surround a cylindrical or cylinder-like non-combustible sheath (5) permeable to meltable fuel (W). Fuel (W) in the container (2) can be taken in the molten state through the upright body (4) to the wick (3). The upright body (4) is made of thin-walled metal and surrounds the wick (3) on all sides in contact, leaving a narrow inlet passage (F1). The metal upright body (4) causes the fuel (W) to heat up rapidly so that it melts quickly and continuous soaking or wetting of the wick (3) with fuel (W) is ensured. |
