<p>PURPOSE: To provide a color image display system which makes configuration simple, compact and inexpensive rather than a conventional picture superimposed type, improves an optical output rather than a one-channel field sequential color display system and reduces temporary visual effects. CONSTITUTION: Concerning the two-channel field sequential color display system for generating a color image corresponding to an electronic image signal, this system is provided with a 1st image generator 12a, 2nd image generator 12b and controller 13 for controlling these image generators 12a and 12b in order to simultaneously display 1st and 2nd color images 6 and 8 in the 1st field of display frame. Then, the images from the image generators 12a and 12b are overlapped on an image screen 16 and in order to display a 3rd color image 10 in a 2nd field, the images from the image generators 12a and 12b are displayed on the image screen 16 in the 2nd field at the same position on the image screen 16 as the image displayed in the 1st field of display frame.</p> |
