The fishing reel has a drum (5), driven in rotation, around a central axis, by the handle (4). The reel also has a curved arch (6) for the recovery of the line. In this recovery position, the primary end of the arch carries a roller (11), which is fitted to rotate around the central axis (II-II) of the arch, such that during the recovery process, the line is progressively driven around the roller and a guiding ring (12). The roller is cylindrical with a slightly concave profile and has a length, sufficient to allow free axial displacement of the intermediate part (28) of the line. The amplitude of the movement of the line is produced by the variation in the rate of recovery and by the variation of the orientation relative to the front part (18) of the line, between the recovery arch and the guiding ring.
