Disclosed is a method for producing condensation polymers of aspartic acid by means of condensation polymerization of aspartic acid at temperatures above 140 DEG C in the presence of catalyst mixtures of potassium and sodium hydrogen sulfate, the melting points of which are at most 200 DEG C, and the use of resulting products, neutralized with alkali metal bases, as additives in low-phosphate and phosphate-free detergents and cleaners.
