PURPOSE:To enhance the sintering property and enable the densifying of a mixture by a low temperature sintering method by adding an excessive amount of the oxide of the group 3a element in the periodic table except La to a system containing the group 3a element in the periodic table except La, Cr and a specific alkaline earth element. CONSTITUTION:An oxide of formula: M2O3 (M is the group 3a element in the periodic table except La), Cr2O3, and the oxide of an alkaline earth element (A) such as Ca, Ba, Sr or Mg are mixed in such an atomic ratio as satisfying the relations of inequalities: 0.0001<=u/x+y+z<=0.20, 0.01<=y/x+y+z<=0.20, x+y/z=1 when A is Ca, Ba or Sr, or as satisfying the relations of inequalities: 0.0001<=u/x+y+z<=0.20, 0.01<=y/x+y+z<=0.20, x/y+z=1 when A is Mg, when the mixture is expressed by a formula: Mx+UuAgCrz. The mixture is molded, and subsequently sintered at 1200-1600 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere to obtain the conductive ceramic comprising a multicomponent oxide having an opened porosity of <=1% and an electric conductivity (1000 deg.C) of >=15s/cm. |
