Internally ventilated brake disc

The brake disc has dividing joints (2) running radially and axially parallel. To join together two parts of the disc, one or two clamp members (3,4) are fitted in the vicinity of the dividing joints, for clamping in a tangential direction. two clamps members may be used together, with a tensioning wedge (5) pushed radially from within to act on flanges (3a,3b) to draw the clamp members together. There are radial clamping surfaces (10,11) engaging on steps on one or both sides of the interior of the friction rings (9), facing towards the middle between the friction rings. The clamps are of U-form cross-section, with U arms of different lengths (3a,3b,4a,4b). The clamps are fitted with the short arms gripping each other.
