PURPOSE:To provide an operating device for an occupant protective device capable of a plurality of numbers of use so that a safety sensor can be reused by arranging the safety sensor in the common passage of a trigger current for the switch means in the operating circuits of one or more. CONSTITUTION:When collision is caused, a safety sensor SS is electrified in an earlier timing than the output of collision detection signals S, so that the collision detection signals S are input into upstream drivers DBI to DB4 through collision judging circuits for conductively passing trigger currents i1 to i4, and also downstream drivers DA1 to DA4 are similarly electrified for operating occupant protective devices E1 to E4. For instance, each of the trigger currents i1 to i4 becomes approximately 200mA, and accordingly the current i0 passing through the safety sensor SS becomes approximately 800mA. Thus, as compared with the convenient case where the squib passing current is 40 A, the current is significantly reduced, and the safety sensor can be reused without being fused.
