摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the number of identifiers to be used inside a network by sharing an in-network identifier among plural terminals and to make possible efficient transfer utilizing statistical multiplex by managing those packets in the same manner and handling them as the same information source. CONSTITUTION:When the packet is inputted from an existent terminal 30 to a packet communication control equipment 10, the in-network identifier and its high-order identifier are detected and reported to a packet transmission control part 12 by a header identifying circuit 11. The inputted packet is multiplexed by a multiplexing part 13 and afterwards temporarily stored in a transmission buffer 14 and wait for the permission of transmission. Then, the transmission is permitted while keeping the transmission regulations of a congestion avoiding variable speed network 40. When there is possibility of that the packet stored in the transmission buffer overflows from the buffer, the packet transmission control part 12 transmits a transmission inhibition signal to all the existent terminals 30 under packet transmission. When the stored packets are decreased and the possibility of buffer overflow is eliminated, the output of the transmission inhibition signal is stopped and the transmission is permitted again.
