PURPOSE:To realize improvement of the accuracy of signal detection by absorbing, inside a package, light returning as reflected by a lens and the like, preventing it from returning to the outside or an exit plane, and eliminating measurement errors such as optical information processing. CONSTITUTION:An edge of an upper part of a stem 1 is formed at a slant to a laser exit plane and is made jagged with its surface coated with ARAnti reflection. A structure is such that on top of the side surface on one side is fixed a heat sink 2, on top of which a semiconductor laser chip 3 is fixed. A cap 4 to seal the inside and a glass window 5 to exit light are provided on top of the light-emitting surface of the semiconductor laser chip. Also, a photodiode 6 for light detection of laser output is provided at the lower part of the opposite side of the light-emitting surface. |
