PURPOSE:To shorten a stroke of a light bulb for engagement with a base by providing a socket with the same number of spring pieces as locking protrusions, furnishing the spring piece with a locking part to be engaged with the locking protrusion. CONSTITUTION:A base 2 of a light bulb 1 is composed of a large diameter cylindrical base part 2a and a small diameter cylindrical tip part 2b, and a plurality of locking protrusions 3 are formed integratedly with the tip part 2b on an outer surface of the tip part 2b at an interval between each other in the circumferential direction. An end in the radial direction of the locking protrusion 3 is positioned in the same radial directional position as in the outer circumferential face of the base part 2a of the base 2. A bottomed cylindrical socket 4 to be slidably fitted to the large diameter cylindrical base part 2a of the base 2 is furnished with the same number of spring pieces 5 as the locking protrusions 3 arranged at an interval between each other in the circumferential direction. This spring piece 5 is equipped with a locking part 6 to be engaged with the locking protrusion 3, and an opening 4a is formed in a bottom wall of the socket 4. An electrode terminal 1a formed at an end of the light bulb 1 is fitted to the opening 4a and a forward end of the tip part 2b of the base 2 is brought into contact with the bottom wall of the socket 4 to be fixed. |
