PURPOSE:To steadily and satisfactorily carry out the transfer of a toner image to a transfer material and the separation of the transfer material from an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:This image-forming device electrostatically forms a transferable toner image on the photoreceptor 1 (image carrier), brings the photoreceptor 1 into close contact with the synchronously-running transfer material in the position of the toner image to electrostatically transfers the toner image to the transfer material electrostatically, then separates the transfer material from the photoreceptor 1 electrostatically, and leads this to a fixing device 8 to fix the toner image. The image- forming device is provided with a regist roller (charge imparting means) 16 which imparts charge to the transfer material in the carry path (transfer guides 13 and 14) before the transfer material is brought into close contact to the photoreceptor 1. A degree to which the transfer material is wrapped is detected by providing sensors (measuring means) S1, S2, and S3, which measure the gap of the transfer material, into the position where the transfer material imparted with charge by the regist roller 16 is curved and carried. This method ensures the control of a transfer/separation current and development bias by a detection signal indicating the degree to which the transfer material is wrapped. |
