<p>PURPOSE:To enable a viewer to perform a fast forward operation, etc., while viewing the displayed images in reference to a video signal transmission device of a cable TV station, etc. CONSTITUTION:A VOD system 1 comprises a video recording device 10, a video signal transmission device 20, a video signal reception device 40, a monitor 50, a terminal equipment 60 and a communication circuit 30. In fact, a cable TV station 2 is connected to a subscriber device 3 in 1:n. In the system 1, a viewer operates the device 10 of the station 2 as if it were a VTR device of his own home via the device 40, the circuit 30 and the device 20 by inputting the operation information to the equipment 60.
