PURPOSE:To easily express a color image in a color closer to that on a CRT monitor on a printed matter and to facilitate the color correction attended with the color evaluation result of the printed matter. CONSTITUTION:A value of L*a*b* calculated from an RGB value of each color of a color image on a CRT monitor is converted into a L*C*H* an angle of each hue on a chromaticity diagram is adjusted to match the hue and the hue is made close to a color of a color image on the CRT monitor and a gamma correction value is adjusted to match the lightness to adjust the halftone gradation lightness and the saturation of the color image on the CRT monitor is adjusted as to which degree it is expressed on the printed matter in order to match the saturation thereby adjusting the saturation of the intermediate gradation, and the L*C*H* after the processing above is restored into the L*a*b* and whether or not the result enters a color reproduction area of the printed matter is decided, and when the result is within the color reproduction area, the color is converted into a CMYK value of the printed matter and when not within the production area, after color reproduction area compression is conducted, the color is converted into the CMYK value of the printed matter. |
