The socket (3) presents a cup shape open at the top and the connecting element (4) stands free of the socket walls (3) all round. Two adjoining parts of the socket wall take the ends of strips (10) which reach towards and bear positively on the element (4), the far end of the strip being offset towards the socket base so both strips and the element bearing on them are embedded in potting resin filler (12). This filler hardens catalytically and the element is grooved out (9) in sawtooth profile for positive thrust, with socket and element together giving an off-circular, e.g. rectangular profile. The strips come in tongue form and are bent out of sheet as joined to and running parallel to the socket wall. Otherwise the sheet has an edge zone in frame shape to run parallel to the socket base so the edge zones of at least two sheets stack up, on one another, the edge zones being divided by a spacer frame.
