<p>An improved 'all solid state' ion selective electrode device (12) comprising a unique sensing element of triple-layer membrane (28) construction. The first sensor layer (34) of the sensing membrane (28) comprising a mixture of the aforesaid electrolyte composition, the middle layer (38) comprising a mixture of the aforesaid solid electrolyte composition and finely divided electronic conducting material, and the third contacting layer (42) composed principally of the aforesaid electronic conducting material. The middle layer (38) having a gradient of component concentration such that a substantial amount of the electrolyte composition is presented in the middle layer (38) closest the first sensor layer (34) and a substantial amount of the electronic conductive material is presented in the middle layer (38) closest the third contacting layer (42).</p> |
