The crystalliser for a vacuum smelting assembly, pref. an electron beam smelting furnace, has a water-cooled crystalliser (7) in a housing (10), rotating with the rigidly fixed and connected cooling water channels (8,9). The cooling water for the crystalliser (7) is sealed against the vacuum by axial seals (25). The crystalliser (7) rotates round a vertical axis through a transmission from an external geared motor (28), outside the vacuum zone.
