<p>To clean the heating elements in a hot air laundry drying appliance, a functional cycle gives an overheating to the electrical resistance heating coils (1) for a controlled period. Pref. during the drying cycle, an overheating cycle is included for the heating elements (1), for a controlled period. The overheating is included in each drying cycle, at the start or the end of each cycle. The heating units (1) are bare electrical resistance element coils. An air flow passes over the heating elements, and the overheating is effected by reducing or stopping the air flow. The heating current can be increased to raise the heater temp. The overheating period is of the order of several secs. <IMAGE></p> |
