PURPOSE:To make the best use of advantage of the high and low efficiency coding systems in a voice recording device in which voice signals are coded in a linear prediction system. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a coding/decoding section 5 which conducts a coding of a voice signals employing a linear prediction parameter obtained by performing a linear prediction analysis to the inputted voice signals that are divided into predetermined frame intervals, a long range prediction parameter that represents pitch periodicity of the inputted voice signals and a sound parameter that corresponds to predicted residual signals and a system control section 16 which records excess coded data in a part where parameters having a prescribed frame are stored, when the recording capacity is exceeded during the recording of coded data in a semiconductor memory 7. |
