The roller consists of a main body (109) and a jacket forming its outer peripheral region, formed by individual segments (11) releasably coupled to the main body by a clamp. In each roller jacket segment there is at least one threaded stud bolt (12,13) which is screwed down from its inside. Each bolt is fitted into a corresponding blind hole (16,17) of the roller main body. The stud bolt is anchored in the blind hole by a transverse bolt (18), parallel to the roller axis, passing through a bore (19) of the main body and an aligned through bore (14,15) in the stud bolt. The transverse bolt clamps the stud bolt and jacket segment inwards.
