The proposed main gas pipeline is intended primarily for use in conveying natural gas. It includes a horizontal structure comprising a pipe (1) and devices for adjusting the pressure of the gas conveyed. According to the invention, the pipe (1) in the horizontal structure is made of a flexible, gas-impermeable material such as a two-ply gas-impermeable fabric skin, has a diameter of between 1 and 20 meters and is fixed at a height of between 2 and 10 times its own diameter on rigid supports (2) which are spaced at intervals of between 10 and 25 times their own height. The pipe (1) in the horizontal structure of the pipeline is provided at the points of fixation to the supports (2) with reinforcements (4) of elastic material with a low coefficient of linear expansion. The supports (2) are provided with bracing wires (5), and the upper sections of the supports (2) are provided with brackets (6) whose horizontal sections (7) are longer than the diameter of the pipe (1) in the horizontal structure of the pipeline. The gas pipeline is provided with shut-off valves, and earthed conductive elements (14) are fixed horizontally along the surface of the pipe.
