PURPOSE:To provide a method for deciding the degree of purification of treated water capable of easily and continuously recognizing the progressing condition of purification and the ends state of purification in real time at the time of executing the purification treatment of sewage in a sewage treating vessel. CONSTITUTION:The sewage treating vessel 1 is provided with a purification degree deciding vessel 7 including an ozone canon. detecting sensor or the ozone concn. detecting sensor and carbon dioxide concn. detecting sensor in part thereof. The treated water is partly introduced into this purification degree deciding vessel 7 and ozone is blown into the treated water in the purification degree deciding vessel. The purification degree of the treated water is decided from the amt. of the ozone to be blown and the measured value of the ozone concn. detected by the ozone concn. detecting sensor or both of the measured value of the ozone concn. and the measured value of the carbon dioxide concn. by the carbon dioxide canon. detecting sensor.
