PURPOSE: To easily manufacture a microcavity which emits the light of plural different colors, by installing at least two microcavity luminescent parts having the effective optical lengths different from each other, on a single substrate. CONSTITUTION: A plane mirror 31 of 1/4 wave stack, obtained by alternately stacking, for example, SiO2 and SiNx dielectric layers, is mounted on a transparent substrate 30. The thickness of the layers is determined to obtain the peak reflectivity in a specific wavelength in EL spectra of an EL layer 35. This specific wavelength is, for example, a wavelength corresponding to the peak of the EL luminescent spectra. On the mirror 31, a filling layer 32, a transparent conductor layer 33 and a positive hole moving layer 34 are stacked. The patterned conductor layers 361, 362 on the EL layer 25 respectively determine the first and second microcavities with the plane mirror 31. The aim of the pattern formation, is to make the cavities different in the optical thickness. |
