PURPOSE:To record an analog NTSC image signal in the state of a high S/N and reduced jitter by the semiconductor laser of a simple recording device. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium comprises a transparent round substrate 11 having a pre-group of 1450 to 2050Angstrom deep, a light absorption layer 12 having a light absorption degree of 0.7 to 0.9 and composed of palladium phthacyanine pigment and a reflecting layer 13. A recording method produces a second center frequency which is lower than the first center frequency of a first FM carrier wave, a second carrier wave having a second frequency bandwidth which is away from the first frequency bandwidth of the first FM carrier wave and a pulse repetition frequency which is lower than the second center frequency and a pulse carrier wave having a third frequency bandwidth which is away from the second frequency bandwidth. The amplitude of a frequency division multiple signal produced by adding and composing the first FM carrier wave, the second FM carrier wave and the pulse carrier wave is symetrically limited and a laser beam is made to flicker in response to limiter waveform, the amplitude of which is limited. |
