PURPOSE:To stabilize a background color by adding a urea compd. to a thermal color forming layer as a coupler. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material has a thermal color forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a coupler reacting with the dye precursor at the time of heating to develop a color. The thermal color forming layer contains at least one kind of a urea compd. represented by formula (wherein X is a 1-12C alkoxy group, a trihalogenomethyl group, a Y is a 1-12C alkoxy group and X and Y are different) as the coupler. This urea compd. is an asymmetric 1,3-diphenylurea compd. having an alkoxy group on at least the single side of 1,3-diphenylurea. This thermal recording material is used as a thermal recording card by laminating a plastic film thereto. |
