Process for preparing aqueous metallic soap dispersions

The invention concerns aqueous metallic soap dispersions having improved application properties. These dispersions are obtained by using an aqueous solution of a metal oxide or hydroxide and stirring in a mixture of: a) a linear fatty acid; and b) a branched fatty acid. The dispersions are suitable, for example, as coating agents for preparing paper.
