PURPOSE:To improve safety and reliability by providing a calking wall in the peripheral part of a positive electrode terminal block, to avoid bursting and firing of a battery at external short-circuit time also to eliminate warping and deformation of a seal cover group part, to improve air-tightness. CONSTITUTION:An electrode group B is received in a stainless steel-made sheath can 15, and on top of this can, a reinforcing plate 11, inner cover 10 wrapping a valve film 14 into contact, PTC (large current overheat protecting element) 9 and a positive electrode terminal block 12 with a calking wall 12-A are mounted by the order thereof. A gasket 13 is interposed between these seal cover group and sheath can, to perform calking work to prevent a pressure from being applied to the PTC9. Thus by providing a seal structure without causing warping and deformation of the PTC9, when a large current flows in a battery such as short-circuiting the outside, the PTC9 is surely actuated, and bursting and firing of the cell can be avoided. Deforming the other seal parts is eliminated, to provide a sealing property of high air-tightness, and safety and reliability can be improved. |
