The mole trap is constructed around a vertical support (1), which is planted in the ground (2) by means of its lower pointed end, above the route of a mole run. The lower end of the support stem (1a) carries a socket (9), in which pivots a shaft (10), which carries, on its outer extension, a small panel (11) and on its end, an arched support (12). The arched support carries a bearer (13), which is fitted so that it pivots around an axis (8), within the space (7) in the centre of the support post. The tail end (14) of the bearer is linked by a rod (16) to a hook (17), which retains a longitudinal striker (18). The striker is fitted so as to pivot around an axis and is held in tension by a spring (22), such that when released, it strikes the head of a cartridge, which is placed in the upper party of the cannon (22). The cannon is held parallel to the vertical support by means of the fixing plates (23) and a cylindrical tube (20).
