A loading device having a rotating chute for a melting furnace comprises a supporting structure (22) over the melting furnace (10), a mounting flange (18) rigidly secured thereto, a batch hopper (26, 28) supported by the supporting structure (22), a housing (30) containing a mechanism for driving said chute (32) sealingly connected on one side to the batch hopper (26, 28) and on the other side to the mounting flange (18) and at least one roller ring (40) of a large diameter mounted in the housing (30) to support the chute (32). In order to increase the service life of said roller ring (40), at least one deformable joining element (30) is provided in the line of rigid elements connecting the mounting flange (18) to the roller ring (40), so that deformations are not rigidly transmitted to the mounting flange (18).
