The device has a plate (20) which is lowered into the barrel, and contains a chamber (32) open to the underside into which the liq. penetrates as this is done. A pump (28) is connected by suction pipe (26) to the chamber, which contains a stirring mechanism (56,66,68). The latter can be driven by a motor (72) mounted on top of the plate and coupled to it via a vertical shaft (70) passing through the plate. It can consist of an auger extending in the radial direction.
