PURPOSE:To eliminate history caused in a photoreceptor layer while discharge product is extremely restrained from being produced in an image forming device where a toner image is formed on the photoreceptor layer on the peripheral surface of the image carrier, a transfer material is electrostatically charged to have a reverse polarity to the electrostatically charged polarity of toner and the toner image is transferred to the transfer material. CONSTITUTION:The electrode wire of a corona discharger 24 is connected to a power source device 9, and the device 9 impresses discharge voltage obtained by superposing AC voltage on the DC voltage having the same polarity as the electrostatically charged polarity of the toner through a switch 91. After finishing transfer, only the part of a photoreceptor with which the trailing edge of the transfer material comes in contact is intermittently discharged. An activated carbon sheet is stuck to the inside of a shielding case. By decreasing discharge time from the electrode wire, the service life of the activated carbon sheet is prolonged, and an influence exerted on a human body or the photoreceptor layer is reduced by shortening the discharge time and attracting the discharge product by the activated carbon. |
